The second most annoying thing is how people think it is so horrible here without traveling anywhere else to check it out. Our drivers aren't even in the top 10 worst in America.

I agree, it annoys me that you have all these NYer's, Midwest folks that complain about life here and how good it was back home.

Honestly, I find it to be a lot of locals who complain the most. In either case, I agree with you. If someone doesn't like it, leave. I mean, it's not like we are the hottest job market around, or anything.

And I'm not talking about the corruption or other illegal activities. Sure, those need to be fixed. But whiners like the writer of that article just need to find somewhere else to live.

That's only true if you're the type of person who can't stand winter. I happen to love the winter up in New England. I love making fires and wearing coats. I love the snow. I love the skiing. You're whole position is that the warm weather in January makes it worth all the shitty stuff but, some of us don't agree. You also ddidnt mention the bad weather. You forgot to mention that the summer in Miami is hotter than Africa and the humidity is oppressive. That weather is a lot more common than the weather you're having now.

By the way, this is coming from someone who has traveled extensively so that doesn't apply either.

I'm taking the point of view that there are areas far worse to live in, in this very country, than Miami. But let's not be blind, we do have room for improvement.

I think that how much one loves or hates an area has a lot to do with how well a person can afford to live in that area in relation to their age and place in life.

When you're young you can put up with a lot of shit to live in a "cool" place.

As you get older you're tolerance for bullshit goes down.

I'm sure that one of the reasons Dade loves New Hampshire is that he has enough money to live well and take advantage of the great things that the area offers.

He probably wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much if he was a retired school teacher living on a fixed income and had to worry about being able to afford fuel oil and food at the same time.

You mean perfect beach weather? I agree. Which is convenient since we live so close to the beach.
