The competency level in every business in Boston is higher than anywhere else I've spent time. Landing in Miami today is like landing in El Salvadore.

It's so easy to picture you verbally firehosing the blacks as a bunch of whiners, fraudsters, and complainers as they reluctantly complied with the law, instead of joining them to speak out against the law itself. Go ahead, say it....every black that voluntarily rode the bus was a hypocrite.

Purpose of your visit?: No reason.

Did it offend you? Did it demean you? Were you embarrassed?

It's stupid and a waste of tax dollars, but no, I personally did not feel any of those things. Then again, I have a huge tool that I like to flaunt.

Seriously, I do think it is an unnecessary intrusion on my personal rights. Hopefully someday I'll be in a position to change that and punish the people responsible. I doubt it, though.

I tend to agree with you, Coach, but the majority of Americans believe it's necessary.

The TSA refers to that as an "anomaly in the crotch area".....

Flew back from Miami to Boston on Monday. I have to say....the Miami and Boston TSA checkpoints have nothing in common. Miami was a clusterfuck.

The line was a mile long. Most of the agents barely spoke English. They were rude and dismissive. It took 40 minutes to get through security and I almost missed my flight because of it.

No scanners in use because I don't think anyone knew how to use them.

By the way, this was at 6:00 am.

Wow, good to know so I need to leave with plenty of time as I have to fly through MIA a few times come May/June

Having spent nearly two years away between Asia and Europe - it is going to a bit of a shock to the system

It's ridiculous. Locking the freaking captain's door is all we needed to do to prevent the 9/11 issue. Well, that and the idiot Bush listening to his intelligence personnel. That and making the idiot intelligence personnel work together and do their fucking job. But, instead we punish the general populace for the incompetence of a few.

That's a little naive, in my opinion. Certain truths exist and saying that all we needed to do was lock the door to the cabin is all we need to do is to deny those truths.

The reason that 911 worked wasn't because the cockpit door was unlocked. It was because, until then, we never fathomed the possibility that a hijacker was hijacking a plane to use it as a weapon and kill himself in the process. Air crews were trained to cooperate with the hijackers and to do as they were told. The 9/11 hijackers knew this and used it to their advantage. In fact, the people who resisted and caused the fourth plane to crash in that field only did what they did because they were on the phones and had learned about the other three planes.
