I went last week for lunch, per a colleague's request. Not my favorite idea. I'm not really a dessert person so I don't see myself going back

Re: Serendipity on South Beach?

I stopped by on the way back from lunch at Taste Bakery today. The prices on sandwiches and salads and wraps and stuff are twice the prices at Taste. Looks kind of vaguely interesting, I guess I'll try it.

It's mind-boggling, the number of places on the beach where you can get ice cream, or gelato, or frozen dots, or... frozen sweet stuff. Just craziness. Must be heaven for little kids on vacation.

Masters don't give orders;
they work with everybody else.

I went to Louise today. It opened on Purdy Ave. where the boutique was; adjacent to A La Folie cafe on the corner.
I had the black currant gelato and I really liked it.

The frozen hot chocolate was good. We'll go back and try the food soon.

Re: Serendipity on South Beach?

The one in NYC is meh, i really don't see why they would open one here. Its not cutting edge, its not really all that nostalgic (famous for being in one movie?), there's nothing original about it and the prices are preposterous.

Who's been there? Is the food any good? I'd rather go to Shake Shack if i wanted a taste of NYC (which i do as often as i possible can :D).

Every time we walk by, there seems to be a good crowd there, so maybe it is catching on. I do want to get back to check it out.
