This is nonsense you perpetrate through your own worldview.

I have software developer jobs available right now. Do you want one?

Didn't think so.

I have a job, but thanks. Actually, I have 3. And I work a lot harder than you, Mr. "Coding On Lincoln".

I really doubt that, after going straight to work at 6:30 this morning. Ask Dan. I wouldn't have to work hundred-hour weeks if there were more people with the skills.

You wouldn't have to work hundred hour weeks if you stopped spending all day on TNL.

It is dangerous to be right in matters on which the established authorities are wrong.

Oh yeah, damn you're right, since it took me an hour just now to read your latest insult and type this and press "Post".

I am guessing that your eventual goal is to charge more hourly for your services. Cut down on your client numbers and charge the remaining more. Ergo, fewer hours, same pay.

Though, I understand the "by your bootstraps" style of business-building. Using sweat equity to build the business in the early years. But, I'm sure you'll get there eventually.

No, it's not about money. I make more than I could possibly spend already. I rarely even think about money. I just don't have to. The problem is that there are lots of people who need my help and it's difficult to say no, because they have no other options. I've spent the whole weekend working on side projects to help friends. Not all even pay money. I came up for air for a moment to post this, and now I'm switching to yet another project. Everybody needs a software or a web developer, but few people are interested in training for jobs that seem 'hard'. So the few of us who can do it are always overloaded.

When Rebecca was having the last round of surgery, I noticed how few of the doctors were American. These doctors were considered among the best in their respective specialties, yet they were all foreigners. The neurosurgeon was Indian, the abdominal surgeon was Scottish, the neuro-oncologist was East African and the rest were Asians from China and Korea, Japan. They were all educated at either Harvard or Tufts,

When I asked them why that was, they told me that Americans don't want to work hard so they all go into Business and become MBAs.
