Best bloody Mary mix...???

I used to think Zing-Zang made a really good bloody Mary mix until I tried Red Eye Texas style horseradish bloody Mary mix. Only a few liquor stores carry it and I accidentally stumbled upon it at the MB Liquors on Alton & 8th.

It also makes a great substitute for sangrita as a tequila chaser.

Any other good bloody Mary mix recommendations? I have tried Mr. & Mrs. T's, Smirnoff and Clamato as well as Tabasco's bloody Mary mix but none of these come close.

I usually do Zing-Zang...have to check out Red Eye...of course I love finding places that do it truly from scratch.

Purpose of your visit?: To rape the horses and ride off on the women [and to prune the hedges of many small villages].

Sometimes, I'll add a splash of Worcestershire sauce and always 3 queen olives stuffed with jalapenos (in addition to the splash of lemon and essential celery stick). Lindsay makes decent ones and any Publix carries them. I also like the Santa Barbara Olive Co. ones but you typically only find these in select liquor stores.

And, while I won't say no to Belvedere or Grey Goose, lately I've been using Absolut Peppar (seems it was made exactly for this drink).

Yes definitely a good brunch drink. You can also make "bloodshots" (bloody Mary shaken and served in shot glasses) as an aperitif for dinner.

Re: Best bloody Mary mix...???

I tried this one just yesterday... again with the horseradish. A tad sweeter than the Red Eye I wrote about previously but still quite good. I found it at a liquor store on the ground floor of Midblock 4 in midtown. I think it was $8.99. With the Lea & Perrins and jalapeno stuffed queen olives, it was a real treat for our Christmas party.
