Re: Bike Locks

Make your own with a big chain and a padlock. Most of the commercial offerings can be picked or cut.

I watched some guy bust one of those in about 3 minutes. He had a big pair of bolt cutters, but just bashed it off. Cops were called. By the time they showed, he was long gone with a $3000 bike.

The answer is, go to the flea market, buy a $25 used bike to bike around town with. I've noticed that little girl's bikes with banana seats are quite popular these days. Never leave any bike worth more than $25 locked up outside.

Also, bring your expensive bike inside. Jerry Seinfeld did, so can you.

Even though the guys at the bike shop recommended U-locks, I never really liked them because of their inflexibility, so I went with a heavy duty chain on this bike for my girlfriend. I use a cable lock on my bike, so we'll see which one gets swiped first...

Re: Bike Locks

I always wonder how well a bike valet service would work out.
