Apparently there’s a hurricane on the way. Or a tropical storm at the most. It’s the usual subdued panic in South Florida. Yes, I’m aware that even a tropical storm can cause damage, and it’s always better to be safe than sorry, but if the news media is to be believed, Armageddon is upon us.

I'm playing it by ear. I have a hotel room reserved up north if needed. I have Fivestar so I can cancel without penalty up to the day of, i.e. I don't have to make a decision until 11:59 PM tomorrow.

Bwaha I just got back from Fresh Market with blue cheese shuffled olives, Victory Hop Devil, and an arm full of Arrogant Bastard. And some bourbon from the liquor stor a couple of blocks north. Russell's Reserve. Prepared! Oh and I closed the storm shutters.

I was hoping for this storm to disrupt the bureaucracy of this society enough for me to seize power. I was going to promise a benevolent dictatorship. But oh well, I guess you all have to suffer through a few more years of kowtowing to paper pushers and desk jockeys. Cuddle your BlackBerries close, white man...

What a waste of a weekend. This is a prime example of the local media scaring the public in hopes of better ratings.

You would think with all the technology, gps tracking that we would have a better idea of where the storm would be likely to hit. We basically just got rained out all weekend and winds of 40 to 45 mph. This is nothing.

This is not enough to disrupt the lives of the local people.
