That graphic is just disingenuous bs. Guns are used legally in self defense hundreds of thousands of times a year. The murder rate in Florida fell 50% in the years after they permitted concealed weapons. You can find worldwide stats that show that restricting gun ownership results in higher violent crime rates. Look how well it works for Chicago and DC.

I'm not anti-gun. I just think that reasonable gun-control laws are much needed. Does anyone really need an AR-15 with a 100 clip? Would it really infringe upon your rights if you couldn't own that weapon?

How many Americans died last year from an AR-15 gunshot wound?

Re: The Armory - Online Weapons Store

What an idiot.

Bloomberg calls on police to strike over gun control, then retracts

“I don’t understand why the police officers across this country don’t stand up collectively and say, ‘We’re going to go on strike. We’re not going to protect you. Unless you, the public, through your legislature, do what’s required to keep us safe,’” Bloomberg said...

New York’s Taylor Law prohibits state public employees from striking.

On Tuesday, the mayor clarified his comments. “I didn’t mean literally go on strike,” he said.

Was there supposed to be an answer to my questions in there somewhere?

Re: The Armory - Online Weapons Store

Despite popular opinion, I'm not suggesting we all have the right to carry chain guns in the trunks of our cars.

My logic is summed up in that quote 'When seconds count, the cops are minutes away'. I think we as humans have the right to protect ourselves. Now, the fact that we have to protect ourselves with deadly weapons reflects on society as a whole, not those weapons themselves.

You could disarm the civilian population, but the fact is, as long as weapons are produced, some of them will be stolen from their controlled environment and used for bad things. You can pass all the laws and restrictions you want, but the fact is, some will get out and be used for crime. Now, will crime go way down? Hard to say. There's countries out there with gun policies as liberal as ours, and their crime is way lower. Switzerland comes to mind. It's practically mandatory to own a weapon there. Everyone has a rifle. Due to compulsory military service and the "ready reserve" of their armed forces, a huge percentage of their population has a pistol or even a full-blown assault rifle. However, gun crime is pretty low there. Partially because the government doesn't give everyone take-home ammunition (however, it's easy to buy it elsewhere) and also, more importantly, for societal reasons. The Swiss aren't as bent out of shape about petty bullshit like we are.

Yes, but I guess it requires high-powered cognitive faculties to see it.

Better get going, Slammer. You're going to be late for work and have your minor dollars docked. Time to hit the cubicle and work for the man.
