You do know, I spent a year studying in Germany back in the mid 90's? Germany is awesome. Spent time in Berlin way before all the sweaty techno hipsters decided it was cool to go live there. Back then it was warehouses and dirty in some of the least built up areas, very much like I image Russia to be, grey buildings and graffiti everywhere.
