Progressive describes a natural busybody who professes faith in one particular set of anti-rational dogmatic beliefs as evangelized by self-anointed neo-Marxist clergy. It further requires adherents to pledge their undying dedication to utopian fantasies and forcefully advance their religious beliefs through radical intolerance and political violence, all while insisting to the unwashed masses they are dedicated to the exact opposite. When confronted with the inevitable hypocrisy and contradictions of their words and actions, they will generally say things like "reality is subjective" in a vain effort to provide philosophical legitimacy to an otherwise obvious case of mass schizophrenia.

Do you know that Caitlyn Jennar/Bruce Jennar is a Conservative Republican. He actually voted for Donald Trump and has always aligned himself with Republicans.

So your critism is voided buddy. Nice try though.

Only because someone is gay/trans doesn't automatically make them Progressive..lol

Re: Open-minded, enlightened, rational progressives

I wasn't talking about Caitlyn. I was talking about the people criticizing her - they are tolerant until someone goes off the reservation, then it becomes a case of who can be the biggest shithead. Diversity really isn't.

Funny how you claim to be tolerant and called Caitlyn, "he", though...

That could get you thrown in jail in your spiritual home out in California.

However, I'll be a nice guy.

Ten Hail Hillarys and deliver to me a thesis on the later works of Marx and Engels as it relates to postmodern neo-socialism in the context of Hohnecker's realpolitik in the DDR of the 1980s. Cite your work.

Can we call Trump a progressive, since he says one thing one day, something else the next?

and also this..
"Oh, I love the old days, you know? You know what I hate? There's a guy, totally disruptive, throwing punches, we're not allowed to punch back anymore. I love the old days. You know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They'd be carried out on a stretcher, folks. If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, would you? I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees. I promise."

Re: Open-minded, enlightened, rational progressives

No one said Trump is 100% in the right. He's wrong, and he's wrong quite a bit. Like half the time.

See, here's the thing, which I've said numerous times on here. Outside of the "cult", no one who voted for Trump is really a fan of his. I've spoken to many a Trump fan and the common thread is that they didn't want a "third term of Obama". Doesn't matter if it was HRC, or one of the other clowns who tried to get the nod from the Dems. Outside of Bernie, who's such a nutjob you can't help but love the guy (he's a commie, but I couldn't bring myself to hate him...), the rest were just establishment clowns looking to ride the wave of Barry's legacy. Little did they realize that the DNC game is rigged, and it's perfectly legal. The political parties are private entities and they can nominate who they want, regardless of the will of their members. The Republicans were seriously considering nominating Ted Cruz after the Donald got the "I win by default" amount of delegates. He scared them that much. They realized though that nominating Cruz would mean fracturing the party and losing the election.

Dems were blinded by the Clinton and Obama legacy and figured if they couldn't nominate Bill, they could nominate "Her" and get the name and a two-in-a-row historical punch of having the first black (well, mulatto) president and the first female president. Breaking glass ceilings or some shit. They played identity politics and fucked themselves hardcore. An ideal centrist candidate that would have played well would have been Jim Webb, or they could have actually won if they ran Bernie, as nuts as he is. And still had a historical first, i.e. the first Jewish president. Instead, they ran a caustic legacy candidate and lost. She played too much to the ass-kissers in New York, California, and South Beach and forgot about the working-class Democrats in the Midwest. You know, the people that work for a living and vote. No one wants a legacy candidate that represents values antithetical to what their values are.

And then she got beat by someone who doesn't know shit about politics, and is like a bull in a china shop in the White House. A two-time loser got beat a third time by Donald Fucking Trump. And they double down still. The next batch are equally as caustic. The tree stump in my backyard that I need to remove has more personality than him. And Warren is horrible. Nurse Ratchet. Meanwhile someone with personality, i.e. Tulsi Gabbard, is being treated as a "curiosity" by the mainline Dems. You want your first female POTUS - there's your prime contender.

Unless Mia Love declares and then it's all over. She runs, and I'll vote major party in a federal election for the first time in my life.

Well I didn't mean to question his righteousness, I asked whether he is a progressive or not!

Re: Open-minded, enlightened, rational progressives

I don't think he knows what he is, half the time. He's a man of convenience, to say the least. Then again, most politicians are. It's how they win elections. Sticking to principles will keep you in the bush leagues. Which is actually appropriate in a way since at it's roots, all politics is local (whoosh bad grammar...) and where people with an actual vision besides delusions of power can accomplish something. I tell LP folk - worry about local elections first, no one's gonna take you seriously until you have some state governances under your belt.

And yes, I knew Gary Johnson was gonna lose unless the magical deadlock happened, but I still couldn't vote main party.

Is he a progressive?

a) Yes, he is.
