And an "official language" is only an integral part of a fascist regime.
Why do we all have to be ONE culture? Where the fuck does the Constitution say that? The GREAT thing about America is you are free to do your own thing, have your own culture, you do not have to be a slave to anyone else's culture. What the hell is wrong with that?
Sort of. By coming here in the first place you are saying that you wish to partake in this great experiment. When you become a citizen, you take the following oath:
I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God
In many cases, immigrants come here with the agenda to advance some cause in the country they left. For example, the Cuban American population in Miami exerts great influence on their elected officials designed to affect change in Cuba. Because they see themselves as Cubans first and American second, they use their sacred vote to advance an agenda in the country they left.
The American Jewish community is one of the worst at this. American Jews routinely support only politicians that they see as supportive of Israel, often to their own detriment and that of Americans.
The founders you speak of shed real blood to create this country. I think that they would agree with you that people should be free to be who they want but they would not agree that they should not think first of the collective American good.
