05.30 | Steve Bug and Camea @ The Techno Loft

When I read Ramon's post about the DJ "riding out mixes" and doing this or that, all I hear is a trainspotter who is goi ng to sit in the corner nodding his head and writing down track names. There was none of that last night. It was just a room full of hot chicks getting drunk and having fun.

I don't think Ramon's post relates to trainspotting. I think anyone can recognize a good set even if they don't know why. Some of us are just able to articulate exactly why. So yeah hot chicks, guidos, hookers, transvestites, trainspotters, the whole family can enjoy, whats wrong with that? A good set is a good set and some djs just put a whole lot more into what the do. Make sense?

At the risk of sounding like a music snob, the DJs many of you call "techno" DJs are really just cutting-edge-non-conformist-creative-original-forward-thinking DJs. .

Forward thinking music, here I was thinking that was what "progressive" was....

LP and Dave and I actually had the conversation on the way home about how the DJs and their super-fans have actually taken the fun out of clubbing. After all....being serious about the music is still just being serious and people go to clubs for fun....not to be serious.

Well said.... we sit here and analize the business end of it, and forget the principles... why do you go out?? (except Bling of course)

Well, that's why this is Talk Nightlife and not Nightlife. When I go out the last thing I talk about is politics. I shoot, drink, rinse and repeat.

If there's only one thing I hope comes out of this Steve Bug @ Space thing, it's that this ridiculous, out-dated theory that "techno" isn't fun will be debunked. I'd love to see some people let go of the lame stereotypes that came out of the minimal fad and bring an open mind. Steve Bug will put a smile on your face.

We know that Steve Bug is not a techno DJ he is more tech house / deep house DJ. But the reason the techno loft is named like that is to generalize the whole scene that with comes with it. So every artist that is playing today that still has that techno scent will be booked for our event. Well not ALL OF THEM but we will surely bring the best and we have some interesting artists on our list. We have to give the opportunity to these DJ's to show that Miami is not only house and tribal during non-wmc times. So lets leave behind all the bias and lets join so we can have a good time. Its time to give this city some good groovy music
