No move out at all. They closed to turn opium garden into a restaurant and redoing prive.

This makes sense, Dade told me there are two full kitchens somewhere in there. Plus isn't Prime 112 across the street?

Technically they could be open by wmc if you think about it.. LP put a floor on his club in 2 weeks. We have 48 days till wmc.. Oh and if you are a fan of Kitchen Nighmares, you know they can dial in your place is 1 night with a great experienced staff...

Technically they could still be closing. If they're changing it into a restaurant or something, then yeah, Opium and Privé are closing.

It's like last year when Suite closed, and they were trying to BS us that they were "closing for renovations".

Yeah they're renovating, just so happens there's new owners and a new name.

When I worked for them we used to talk a lot about making the place a restaurant/lounge complex. The thing is that nobody wants to eat outside in the hellish heat of Miami.

That's called overflow. You know where our HQ is and during the summer if we eat out, we only eat indoors for lunchtime. Even at night it's still Africa hot.

Actually, given OG's layout, they could probably do a really good job of making it into a reasonably temperature-controlled outdoor eatery. Need good ventilation and fans and stuff, but since they are not totally outside like all the cafe's on Lincoln, they have more opportunity to control their climate.

There are about 3 nights a year that even I won't eat outside.

Yeah, and those nights it's truly Africa hot.

Yes I have, Captain Obvious. The difference is that Lincoln, (which suffers a decline in revenue during the hot months, is full of cafes that cater to a much more casual clientele. You seem to always want to compare apples to oranges in order to make a point but you rarely think past your own habits. If all we had to do was cater to Texas transplants who don't mind heat and find everything to be impressive, it would be easy. Unfortunately, you're in the minority.

Like I said before, I have actually participated in discussions with the Milons and the other owners of Opium about this and the heat was one of the main reasons it never went forward before. But I guess you're the expert.......

Africa hot was the only good part of that entire movie... Shit they even used it in the trailer..

Coach is still my girl but sometimes she is a little goofy. Coachy thinks that just because he goes to Lincoln Road in his Tommy Bahama shirt, shorts and flip-flops and is comfortable because he came from the Texas sweat farm that people who are well dressed and looking good don't mind dripping sweat in their $200 meal. It just ain't so. Chicks don't want to get all dolled up and sit in the humidity waiting for their hairspray to melt.

Of course, he'll go there on free food night and say it was totally packed and comfortable.
