So...they were open for 4 hours and have already racked up three major violations. Off to a great start. They don't even have a CU yet? That's just crazy. They have to get that and then they need a CO, an City occ license, a County Occ licence. My question is how did they get a liquor delivery without all that being in order. Also, someone sent me the text of an interview done with Rolly that was on CJ. In the interview he raves about the place being "soundproof". I guess not so much.

Lucy.....you got some splainin to do!

If I remember correctly, Park West Nightclub had the same shit happen to them when they opened. I dont remember hearing anyone on here calling LP a Moron, or an Idiot, etc. Some serious haters and LP cock lovers on this board?

LP who has an attorney who handles his licenses, at least had an excuse. He fought the law and the law won, but lets see the distinctions:

1. LP has 2 other clubs that are hugely profitable, PW is not his entire source of revenue.
2. His excuse fell short but was still plausible
3. The Noff said a catering license was sufficient so LP and his 2 partners took a risk, they lost.
4. LP had his CO
5. LP had his fire permits
6. LP had his CU
7. PW was doing well at the time, so the risk they took paid off
8. LP was called out by me and many others on here
9. LP was smart enough to spin his email to his customers, he's always marketing
10. LP was financially responsible for his decision.
11. LP is tight with the Cubans who run Miami in City Hall
12. LP has an 8 year track record
13. LP has donated money, and other such bs items to the city

All AB did was put the future of their club in jeopardy without even opening. They used someone else money to gamble with. For fucks sake, no fire permit = arrogance, it's dangerous and every club should be called out for doing that. It goes to show you, money is tight at AB, they risked it all to open 1 week early, makes no sense..

LP gets no pass, but he does get the benefit of the doubt, he's earned it.

Re: Fire Marshal shut down Aero Bar Closed for the weekend

LP's made a few big ones, remember the DEA going after his old partner? As OG once told me "everyone sues LP".... Remember when he took a bulldozer to old Space? Got sued for that one..

The list goes on and on..

This wasn't a mistake on AB's part, this is a desperate situation if you ask me. Why did they open without having the permits? No fire permit is NOT a mistake, it's arrogance.

According to some, they won't be open by the weekend with these type of issues, we shall see. I hope they open, kick ass and become successful, but I have my doubts. I hope by me and others being hard on them they straighten out and make a run at the Opium guys, but right now they are playing in the Minors while the Opium guys are the Majors.

After that Great White concert fire, no one, and I mean no one should put the public and firemen in harms way.

Re: Fire Marshal shut down Aero Bar Closed for the weekend

I have no knowledge of what happened at Aero Bar, but what *MAY* have happened to them was the same thing that happened to the Gansevoort's roof-top lounge. The guy that owns it says they got nailed because City inspectors came back and required him to make a structural modification AFTER the permit inspections had already been completed, which ultimately cause them to be in violation of operating without valid permits. (Something about widening an exit to 45-inches).

The City is cracking down on lots of stuff that affects nightlife that people don't realize. Example:

1) The City just revoked Table 8's "Accessory Use" permit for their outdoor bar due to noise.

2) The Planning Board has TWICE refused to approve the transfer of Ink to its new owners. The board's staff AND the Planning Director both told the new board members that this transfer was a very routine event and that everything in the application was fine, but the board refused to approve it. One of the reasons given was that the application was "hand-written" and "messy."

3) As of 10 minutes ago at Dream...

"Due to New and Unexpected Code Enforcement by the Miami Beach Fire Marshall The Chat Noir Club has been forced to postpone our show until next week."

That notice went out exactly 2-hours and 15-minutes prior to the Monday night opening. (tonight)

I had a feeling changes were coming.

Re: Fire Marshal shut down Aero Bar Closed for the weekend

People call us biased and "LP cock lovers" here, and maybe it is true, but at the same time, I don't think any of us want Aero Bar to fail. Personal friends of mine are involved in it, and it really just bums me out to see that they might not have their permits in order at the moment.

I'd like to think that by them being called out, it will lead to a better club experience for all.
