Re: TNL a ghost town lately..

I think this off-season has been much quieter than the past 3. Not just on TNL, but in general. There are fewer events going on, fewer cars on the streets, fewer people out and about.

I know that up until about 4 or 5 years ago, Miami had a pretty serious off-season. However, the last 3 or 4 years have not seen the same drop-off. A common refrain with everyone I spoke with was, "Miami does not really have an off-season, anymore." Annette worked in the hotel biz at the time, and she could see it in number of bookings. Other businesspeople we spoke with said that their summers were not as down as years past.

This year, it definitely seems like it is more down. Everybody I ask about it says the same thing. This summer is slower than the past 3 or 4.

Ask Dade how mild the winter was up north this year... I have a friend who's an auto transport broker, and this year he said he moved very few cars into Florida and those cars didn't stay as long... his company was moving 4200 cars a month last year and this year went down to 3100... and wether you want it or not, the snow birds do affect our economy in more then one way...

Maybe so, but that's fine. Maybe someday you will realize there's more to life than the almighty dollar, or whatever currency takes the place of our devalued scrap of paper.

I just hope for your sake you know how to take care of yourself. ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ.

Yes, definitely. There have been times this summer when Lincoln Road has been deserted during the week days. The last couple of summers, that never happened. Even in the middle of the day, in the middle of the summer.

Masters don't give orders;
they work with everybody else.
When the job is done, people are amazed
at what they have accomplished.
