Chris Paciello gets a movie

According to the New York Post.

New Line Cinema has struck a deal to develop a biopic based on the life of Chris Paciello, the club king who dated Madonna and did time for a mob-land murder. Adam Mazer — who wrote “Breach,” the FBI thriller starring Chris Cooper and Ryan Phillippe — is writing the screenplay. Paciello made headlines as a Miami impresario who dated beauties including Jennifer Lopez and Naomi Campbell. But his past as a Bonanno crime family associate involved in a slaying got him six years behind bars in 2000. Since being sprung, he’s returned to Miami and is a restaurant and nightlife consultant at Delano.

i don't necessarily disagree with your sentiment, but from a business/hollywood point of view - this is definitely not the first time they make a movie about a bad guy. it sells. but yeah, it's of course a shame.

Already been done. Movie was called Kings of South Beach or something like that.

It was one of those straight to DVD deals though.

Goodfellas was basically a true story, so I'm ok with them making movies about bad people...

that show locked up abroad on did a special on the guy goodfellas was about... forget his name but he came on and told his story as it actually was... great episode great show

Chris Facebooked about it last night with a link to the story in Variety. He said, "My story, my way", so I guess he feels like the "true" story hasn't been told.

I remember people speculated that if Chris came back, he'd be accepted with open arms into the South Beach nightlife community. While he hasn't achieved the level of fame he once had in his short time back here, he has generally been accepted back into the community.

It makes the whole thing about New Yorkers saying that Michael Alig would be accepted back into their community not so far-fetched.

Do you really think that it's fair to compare Alig and Paciello?

Maybe not, but in the same vein, both are accused of criminal deeds, and one has returned to the lifestyle they had before their incarcerations. And the other, probably plans on it if he gets out.
