A really vague rumor mill...... Club closing...

Swank I had this convo with Grutman, it was like talking to a wall... There are far more VIPers who don't go out because they or their wives don't want to see Tiesto.. I begged them to book the Civil Wars, they ignored my advice now they are too big to book..

They only see whats in front of them.

By the time they figure it out...it'll all ready have been done. There is a difference between a leader and a follower. Given Grutman's budget many on this board would have been able to make a success out of LIV. He only knows what he likes but at some point he too will mature or get older an realize....hey, there's not much out there for me and I wanna go out.

Can't be king of clubs forever....if one thing comes crashing down hard....it's that fact!

Funny, i say the same thing and you people call me an asshole, hunt me down, and threaten me. anyone could of run liv, and so far the mmg takeover of amnesia is a complete and utter FAILURE. Of course, the remodel hasnt happened, but im telling you now, it will not be a success on the level mmg thinks it will.

The clubs all mentioned here are more like lounges...and mynt def is not closing, i know romain and he has had his best 12 months in history....

Swank, i didnt joke about anything i said about liv or grutman, i guess since you probably lack a degree other then from some online university, you lack common sense and intelligence.

As for your comment of me being a no one and to get out, id say take a good look in the mirror. I dont know much about you, but i can tell alot from your posts. You are a no one, and by no one i mean this. You are probably in yours upper 30s or 40s, you work at a bar or club and at best you are a some assistant manager, never making more then 60k a year. More then likely, you are bartender for life, the kind of guy at a 10 year reunion people laugh at.

I dont need to fill this board with my accomplished life, i pay more federal income tax in one year then you will save in your retirement accounts over a lifetime. And beleive me, you my friend are a no one, i could buy you spit you out and no one would notice.

That might be a bit more believable if you knew how to write in proper English. Your use of punctuation is all wrong. You seem unable to capitalize the words that should be capitalized. You don't even understand that the word "then" is not the same as the word "than."

Also, in the PM you sent me, you claimed to be a promoter who was fired from LIV. Given that I have owned and operated many clubs, I know what promoters make. I can assure you that your Federal Tax liability isn't what you're claiming it to be given that, by your own claim, you're an out-of-work promoter. But, we both know that none of what you say is true, right?

Those who were obsessed with mentioning it or trying to convince others usually had nothing. Those who know me and what I've accomplished or failed over the years are the somebodies.....you are still a nobody expressing your fantasies in broken english.

You are a terrible judge of character and should stick to looking like a disgruntled club promoter/message board millionaire....but while I have your attention....I was curious...what strategies have you chosen this year to offset your revenues and save you some tax dollars...do you prefer IRA's, Roth IRA's, Real Estate...or maybe you're a big player and can handle annuities?

Sobeking, you're making a young person's mistake. You believe that the indicator of success is money and/or material possessions. Far from it. When the balloon goes up and we have to fight to survive, all your bank accounts in the world aren't going to mean shit. I hope you know how to operate a firearm because I'm sure as hell not going to teach you.

But even if that day doesn't come, and hopefully it won't, don't be so quick to judge people by their jobs and their income. It's an American failing, and for someone who claims to be as well-traveled as you are, I'm surprised that you are guilty of it. Someone who travels to the world's exotic locales should be a bit more grounded and humble, you'd think.

Those bartenders at the ten-year reunion? Well, if they work in our venues or the venues in any major club city, the other people should be jealous, not ridiculing them. Those bartenders make good money (not that it really matters) and they only work a few nights a week, freeing up their days for more meaningful pursuits.

I once knew a gentleman at Joe's Stone Crab, Jim was his name. He was the subject of my second-ever photo assignment. At the time I was interning for Ocean Drive and I did their "Bartender of the Month" spot. Basically, this guy worked a few nights a week at Joe's, and with the income he earned, he took the rest of the year off and spent time with his grandchildren. He could work all year round at another restaurant, make triple the money, but he chose not to since he wanted time for his own pursuits. I can think of worse ways to live life. So, a lot of these bartenders you make fun of, they are living a life you only wish you had. They have a freedom you probably don't.

My buddy is a bartender at Mango's...he has to dance on the bar and shit...but for a few years in row he would make over $100k...dude came to America without really speaking English...how's that for the American dream?
