Seriously guys?

I mean C'mon...for the entire year now that we have been doing JIVE I have not had ONE person from TNL come and check out the singing contest! Seriously...I would not let you pay for any drinks....so what is the hold-up?

How is it that none of you have come and checked this party out? (accept POD, but he does not count!) we are there each and every Tuesday from 10:30 to 1AM sharp....come by and check it out! Blue Martini Brickell...

school night?

I have to admit, I have chickened out too many times. I usually get out of the gym around 9:30, come home take a bath and just dont feel like doign anything afterwards.

But, I had told many people about the party, folks who have asked about doing something cool on a Tuesday night.

Buster I don't think a lot of people from this site have checked
it out for two reasons. First, it's on a Tuesday night. And second,
it's at Blue Martini.

Obviously I don't count since I do photos and the occasional video highlight at the party. Photos here and videos here if you wanna look.

That being said, the actual band performance part is from 11 PM - 1 AM, though the party does go until 5. I have things to do during the day on Wednesdays so I leave soon after the performance part is done. It's a good party for a school night.

Buster I don't think a lot of people from this site have checked it out for two reasons. First, it's on a Tuesday night. And second, it's at Blue Martini.

Right. It's a freaking Tuesday night, why do you start at 10:30? Start it at 7pm. You can still go as late as you want. But, some of us actually work for a living.

As far as Blue Martini, I am guessing it is not the normal yuppie wannabes that usually populate the area, so I would be willing to give it a go, if the time were not an issue.

If you started it at 7 PM it would hard for the whole 'contest' part to take place, since a lot of key parts (including some of the band members) can't be on-site until later. Plus, a lot of the participants have jobs, too, and can't get out there until later. It was kicked around quite a bit. Plus BM likes to show sports at that time.

Case in point, I just got home from it. It's 1:27 AM. Even if I had a job with fixed hours, say 8-5 or 9-5, I could still knock out right now and get six hours of sleep. Plus, I personally don't drink when I am there. I drive to and from that party and just as a word of warning, MPD is out like flies in that area, and half of them are in unmarked vehicles, including an Audi A4, i.e. not just CVPI's with low-profile kits.

I'm not saying go out every week to it. I do because I'm paid to show up. But it's something different put on by a friend of ours, and it's worth the visit for sure. Heck, it's the only party in town where the guest can participate in it somehow.
