Hunger Games = Battle Royale IMO.

If you haven't seen Battle Royale, go find it :)

Re: The Maze Runner

You know this is essentially a TV show tie-in, right? The maze runner "reality" show debuted right about the time that the movie did.

Re: The Maze Runner

I am presently reading the book.... I should finish it maybe tonight or tomorrow.. Kindle says I have 3 hours and 55 minutes left of reading. lol then I will watch the movie... The book is different - a little different story but I had no clue what to expect anyway, which is how i like it.... anyway it's getting juicy now... Thomas is now a runner... I can't wait to read what happens when he's in the maze..!

Re: The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner book was pretty good - the movie was just OK. There's just so much that is changed.. like the code... um the chick figured out the code using all the old maps (something not talked about in the movie) - they wrote them down, didn't make a big hard copy map... she was able to decode the words... The codes were words not numbers. She also announced upon entering the Glade that "It was Changing" and later on that she "triggered the Ending".
The ending was wrong - similiar concept though but still wrong.

But I'm overly critical because I'm not a movie person. The movie just felt very rushed and didn't develop the story as well IMO.

Re: The Maze Runner

Caught this on HBO. A series or trilogy is great when the movies can exist on their own as well as acting as an overall story arch. It appears that the whole point was to create a sequel. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have bothered watching it, despite the solid build up in the first two acts and the decent special effects. I saw the Lord of the Flies parallels, as well. Also reminded me a little bit of 1994's vastly underrated No Escape with Ray Liotta, which I recommend.
