Whitney Houston, who reigned as pop music's queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died. She was 48.
Publicist Kristen Foster said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unknown.

Re: Whitney Houston Dead

The New York Times is running an article that says up front that the cause and location of he death are unknown. And then there are pages and pages of stuff about her. One of those examples of a pre-written obituary.

Re: Whitney Houston Dead

As morbid as it sounds, the death pools have some basis in reality.

I'm willing to bet Lindsay Lohan has a pre-written obit, for example. Charlie Sheen would be another. Basically they look for anyone living the crackhead lifestyle and they get to work.

And of course if you're just old, they'll write one too.

I remember one time, CNN accidentally left their "obituary" directory unsecured and people found a whole host of templates for celebrities and politicians who were speculated to be on their way out.

Looks like she passed out from Xanax and alcohol and ended up drowning in a bathtub.

Her Super Bowl performance was awesome. Even though it was known that she lip synced it - it was still very good. This was when America was PRO America. I was a freshman in High School in Orlando and the Super Bowl was in Tampa... I remember watching it on TV like it was yesterday.

Best pop voice, yes. I'd argue Sarah Brightman is the best overall, if not ever. Either way, Whitney was phenomenal, and better than Mariah. RIP.

Re: Whitney Houston Dead

Yea, but according to Mariah she lost a very good and dear friend.

I bet Mariah hasn't spoken to her in many years.

My Facebook status this morning:

Whitney has so many 'great friends' now who did absolutely nothing for her during her troubled times.
